MAY 20, 7:00 PM TO 9:00 PM

Celebrating the Bay Area's vibrant film community through quarterly screenings and Q&A's with Bay based filmmakers.

BAY MADE was born out of necessity. The necessity to connect and celebrate with the Bay Area film community after months of isolation. With production stalled and the joys of life on set with our people stripped from us, we watched films....lots of them. We were reminded that although we are on pause, we are still very much in a golden era of film in the Bay Area. From Indie darlings, scores of emerging filmmakers, and some of the best crews on the globe, the film scene here in the Bay is creating genre-bending and socially conscious film that's pushing the greater industry forward. BAY MADE exists to celebrate that ethos and the films and filmmakers making it happen.

BAY MADE has had four successful showings with talented filmmakers, and we're excited to bring you a fifth this May. Stay tuned to see what else we have planned for 2021.

The TEAM

BRENTON GIESER

Co-Founder and Organizer

KATHERINE TOLENTINO

Co-Founder and Organizer

Brenton Gieser is a filmmaker originating from Half Moon Bay, California. He is the Co-Founder of LvL Films, a production company based in San Francisco exploring stories that cut to the core of our humanity. He approaches his work as a personal mandate to help raise questions about social and economic injustice with a desire to move us towards deeper community understanding and social equity.

Katherine Tolentino is a mixed-race filmmaker from the San Francisco Bay Area. As a hybrid of several different cultures, she aims to make films that break down reductive stereotypes and spotlight the things we all have in common. To that end, she founded BorderWoman Pictures, a production company focused on narrative storytelling from underrepresented voices.

BRENDAN BYRNE

Head of Technology

ALYSSA HENDERSON

Head of Publicity

Brendan splits his time between working at a mom and pop industrial software shop and being a cluster of sentient squirrels in a suit. He has not seen any of the movies you ask him about, but will absolutely talk your ear off about board game design.

Alyssa is a recent college graduate who had to sit through Citizen Kane 7 times within the span of 4 years for coursework. She hopes to one day work as a screenwriter, bringing more visibility to mental health and intersectional feminism on screen. As a way to unwind, she plays the bass for her number one fan, her cat, Ady.
